Everyday Stationary Pieces

As someone who thrives on organization, aesthetics, and productivity, having the right stationery items on hand is a must. Whether I’m journaling, studying, planning my week, or doing quick sketches, my stationery kit is curated for both function and form. Today, I’m sharing a look inside my daily essentials — my favorite tools I carry everywhere.

Stationary items were mostly bought during my Japan trip because Japan is stationary heaven.

Let’s start with the container my container, a minimalist dream. I use a Muji Polypropylene Case from Japan. It's sturdy, frosted, and keeps all my tools visible and organized. Though originally meant for glasses or small items, the perfect size for my compact stationery.

Next are my pen and writing tools. I use the following:

1. Muji Waterbased Felt Pens
In sleek gray and pastel purple, these pens are a joy to write with. Smooth, bleed-resistant, and perfect for lettering or underlining notes.

2. Muji Fountain Pen
Elegant and clean, this pen glides smoothly across the page — giving a refined feel to even the messiest notes.

3. White Inked Pen
A must-have for working on dark paper or adding highlights to sketches. This pen writes beautifully and stands out on kraft or black pages.

4. Vintage Sarasa Zebra Pen & Mechanical Pencil
This dual-function vintage tool is equal parts pen and mechanical pencil — perfect for switching between tasks without cluttering your case.

5. Muji Double-Side Highlighter (With Window Tip)
A soft yellow highlighter that’s easy on the eyes, with a handy window tip so you can see what you're highlighting — genius design!

And for my utilities?

6. Muji Ruler
Compact, clean, and metal — this 15cm ruler is perfect for precise lines, quick measurements, or straightening stickers in a planner.

7. Compact Scissors
Tiny but effective, these scissors fold neatly into a pen-like cylinder. Ideal for cutting washi tape or loose threads in a pinch.

8. Tweezers for Stickers
If you love decorating journals or planners, these tweezers are a game changer for placing tiny stickers or tabs without ruining the edges.

9. Correction Pen
Not your usual tape — this pen-style corrector is small, neat, and doesn’t take up much space.

10. Mechanical Pen Refill
Keeping a refill ready is essential. This ensures I’m never caught without a working pencil when I need one.

11. Muji Portable Stapler
Yes, even a stapler can be minimal and cute. This portable one fits perfectly in the case and comes in handy more often than you’d expect.

This little kit has become a staple in my bag. Everything in it is something I actually use, and it all fits perfectly in that compact Muji case. I love how each piece is simple, functional, and thoughtfully designed. It makes staying organized (and let’s be honest, a little extra productive) feel easy and enjoyable.

If you're into clean, minimalist stationery that does its job without any fuss, I definitely recommend checking out Muji and similar brands. It’s amazing how much joy a good pen or a well-designed ruler can bring to your day.
